Alprazolam (Xanax) is a Schedule IV controlled substance in the US but faces much stricter treatment internationally. The UAE, Japan, and Singapore require prior government authorization before importing benzodiazepines including alprazolam. Travelers have been arrested at UAE airports for possessio. Enforcement in Singapore carries fines from SGD 500 to SGD 10,000 under Customs Act 1960 s.128F, s.130 (typical personal cases are handled as civil infringements).

Leaving Singapore with xanax / alprazolam
Alprazolam is a Schedule IV controlled substance in the US and equivalent schedules in most other jurisdictions. Personal-use quantities accompanied by the prescription and doctor's letter are generally permitted for export under Misuse of Drugs Act 1973; HSA personal-export permit. Above these limits, an HSA personal export permit is required in advance. Destination-country rules on benzodiazepine import are more restrictive in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and several other jurisdictions — verify independently before travel.
