Russia, China, India, and several African and Middle Eastern nations restrict or ban private satell. Enforcement in Singapore carries fines from SGD 500 to SGD 10,000 under Customs Act 1960 s.128F, s.130 (typical personal cases are handled as civil infringements). In the reverse direction (taking satellite phone out of Singapore): restricted — Satellite phones and personal radio transmitters may face export controls from Singapore for dual-use technology reasons.
