Indonesia requires drones over 250g to be registered with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Foreign tourists must obtain a temporary flight permit. No-fly zones include airports, military installations, and presidential palace areas. Bali has specific drone restrictions. Enforcement in Indonesia carries fines from IDR 1,000,000 to IDR 100,000,000 under Law No. 17/2006 on Customs Art. 82 (typical personal cases are handled as civil infringements).

Leaving Indonesia with consumer drone
Personal consumer drones (DJI Mini/Mavic class) are generally exportable from Indonesia as consumer electronics. Higher-performance drones (extended range, heavy payload, thermal imaging) may fall under dual-use export controls (Wassenaar Arrangement implementations). The sharper constraint is destination-side: many countries require registration or permits for drone import and several prohibit it at various times — verify the arrival rule for the same route before travelling. Batteries follow cabin-carriage lithium rules.
