Thailand's Department of Livestock Development controls meat imports. Fresh meat requires import permits and veterinary certificates. Commercially packaged meat products from approved countries are generally accepted in personal quantities. All food should be declared on the customs form. Enforcement in Thailand carries fines from THB 5,000 to THB 500,000 under Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017) s.202, s.242 (typical personal cases are handled as civil infringements).

Leaving Thailand with meat products
Personal-use quantities of processed, cooked, or shelf-stable meat products (jerky, cured meats, canned meats) may generally be exported from Thailand for personal consumption; destination-country biosecurity restrictions on arrival are typically the binding constraint. Raw meat, poultry, and offal require a veterinary-issued Export Health Certificate for commercial or above-personal-use export. Many destinations (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, US, EU) restrict or prohibit personal-import of raw and cooked meat regardless of origin-side export permissions.
Declare all meat. Commercially packaged products from major brands usually accepted. If unsure, declare on arrival — declared goods at worst attract duty or surrender, while undeclared goods found in screening are seized and fined.
