Thailand's Department of Livestock Development controls meat imports. Fresh meat requires import permits and veterinary certificates. Commercially packaged meat products from approved countries are generally accepted in personal quantities. All food should be declared on the customs form. Enforcement in Thailand carries fines from THB 5,000 to THB 500,000 under Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017) s.202, s.242 (typical personal cases are handled as civil infringements).
