Can I bring Meat Products into Singapore?
Generally permitted with declaration
Full details
Singapore has relatively liberal food import rules. Commercially packaged meat products can be brought in personal quantities. Fresh meat from approved countries is accepted. SFA may inspect products at the checkpoint. No specific weight limits for personal quantities. In the reverse direction (taking meat products out of Singapore): restricted — Meat products for personal consumption may face export limits from Singapore for animal-health documentation reasons; commercial quantities require an Export Health Certificate.
Leaving Singapore with meat products
Personal-use quantities of processed, cooked, or shelf-stable meat products (jerky, cured meats, canned meats) may generally be exported from Singapore for personal consumption; destination-country biosecurity restrictions on arrival are typically the binding constraint. Raw meat, poultry, and offal require a veterinary-issued Export Health Certificate for commercial or above-personal-use export. Many destinations (Australia, New Zealand, Japan, US, EU) restrict or prohibit personal-import of raw and cooked meat regardless of origin-side export permissions.
Declare meat products. Singapore has liberal food import rules. If unsure, declare on arrival — declared goods at worst attract duty or surrender, while undeclared goods found in screening are seized.
