Saudi Arabia prohibits travellers from importing ammunition without an explicit prior authorisation from the General Directorate of Public Security (Presidency of State Security). Under the Saudi Weapons and Ammunition Control Law (Royal Decree M/5), only licensed persons may possess and import firearms and ammunition, and import licences for travellers are effectively unavailable. ZATCA lists ammunition as a prohibited import category for travellers. Violations may result in confiscation, criminal prosecution, and lengthy detention.
