India's Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act 2019 bans the production, manufacture, import, export, transport, sale, distribution, storage and advertisement of e-cigarettes nationwide. Postal and courier shipments containing vape devices, cartridges, or e-liquids are seized on arrival at India Post / private-courier customs clearance. First offence: fine up to INR 100,000 or imprisonment up to 1 year; subsequent offences: up to 3 years and INR 500,000 fine.
Do not post or courier e-cigarettes, vape pods, or e-liquid to addresses in India. CBIC intercepts incoming parcels at all international mail centres; the parcel is seized and the recipient may face fines up to INR 100,000 and prosecution under the 2019 Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act.
