New Zealand prohibits the import of fresh fruit by post due to biosecurity risks. All fresh produce requires phytosanitary certification and import permits for commercial quantities. Personal postal imports of fresh fruit are not permitted under any circumstances. Enforcement in New Zealand carries fines from NZD 1,000 to NZD 400,000 and imprisonment up to 5 years in aggravated cases under Customs and Excise Act 2018 s.209 (prohibited imports); Misuse of Drugs Act 1975.
Do not mail fresh fruit to New Zealand. All items will be destroyed at the border. If unsure, declare on arrival โ declared goods at worst attract duty or surrender, while undeclared goods found in screening are seized and fined.

International mail over NZD $1,000 in value requires an import entry and payment of duties/GST. NZ Post and couriers handle customs clearance. Biosecurity checks apply to all inbound parcels.
