Legal; new regulations from 2025
Details
Switzerland permits e-cigarettes and vaping. A new Tobacco Products Act entering force in 2025 will regulate nicotine e-liquids similarly to EU TPD (20mg/ml limit, 10ml max refill volume). Until then, Swiss rules are more permissive than the EU. Travelers may bring personal devices freely. In the reverse direction (taking vape / e-cigarette out of Switzerland): allowed — Vape devices and personal e-cigarette hardware may generally be exported from Switzerland freely, though many destinations prohibit import.

Practical advice
No special procedure is required for personal quantities of vape / e-cigarette arriving in Switzerland. Quantities above duty-free allowances must still be declared. Verify current limits with Federal Customs Administration (Eidgenössische Zollverwaltung — EZV / Office fédéral de la douane et de la sécurité des frontières — BAZG).
