Perfume is classified as a flammable liquid (UN 1266) due to its high ethanol content, making it subject to dangerous goods rules for air freight and carry-on restrictions. Most countries set no specific perfume allowance separate from the general du. In the reverse direction (taking perfume / fragrance out of Vietnam): allowed — Perfume and fragrance may be exported from Vietnam freely at personal-use quantities. Arrival inspections are conducted by General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC); when in doubt, use the declare (red) channel — declared goods at worst attract duty or surrender, while undeclared goods attract penalties.
