Military-grade Generation 3 night vision devices are export-controlled under US ITAR Category XII and require a State Department license for export. Unauthorized export is a federal crime. Most countries restrict civilian import and possession of night vision devices regardless of generation. Russia. Enforcement in Thailand carries fines from THB 50,000 to THB 500,000 and imprisonment up to 10 years in aggravated cases under Customs Act B.E. 2560 s.242-244; Narcotics Act.
