Leaving with this item
Kratom's legal status varies sharply — it is lawful in New Zealand but controlled at many destinations, so treat cross-border carriage as high-risk.
Practical advice
New Zealand restricts import of Kratom. Personal-use quantities of sub-threshold-THC hemp CBD may clear with declaration and COA; above-threshold or full-spectrum CBD is treated as a controlled substance. Cannabis flower and plant material is prohibited for cross-border movement globally regardless of domestic legal status.
