UAE allows some fresh fruit with inspection by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE). Commercially packaged fruit from approved countries is generally accepted. Homegrown or unpackaged fruit may be refused. Dates from certain origins face specific restrictions. Enforcement in United Arab Emirates carries fines from AED 500 to AED 50,000 under Federal Customs Law No. 1 of 2003; GCC Common Customs Law (typical personal cases are handled as civil infringements).
