Fresh fruit is one of the most seized items at international borders worldwide. Australia and New Zealand have among the most stringent biosecurity rules and prohibit virtually all fresh fruit from being brought in by travelers. The United States res. Enforcement in Thailand carries fines from THB 5,000 to THB 500,000 under Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017) s.202, s.242 (typical personal cases are handled as civil infringements).
