Japan's Plant Protection Station enforces strict quarantine on fresh fruit. Most fruits from most countries are prohibited due to pest concerns (Mediterranean fruit fly, codling moth, etc.). Some fruits from specific countries are permitted with phytosanitary certification. Inspection at port of entry is mandatory.
