Thailand bans all e-cigarette liquids (with or without nicotine) under the Ministry of Commerce Notification B.E. 2557 (2014), reinforced by the Customs Act and the Consumer Protection Act. Import, export, sale and possession are criminal offences. Penalties include fines up to 10 times the import value or up to five years imprisonment, or both (Section 244 of the Customs Act). Thai Customs routinely seizes e-liquid in both checked and carry-on baggage at Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports.

Leaving Thailand with e-cigarette liquid (vape juice)

PROHIBITEDE-liquid cannot lawfully be taken out of Thailand — vaping products are banned there.

Thailand bans e-cigarettes and e-liquid — import, sale, and possession are offences under the Customs Act and consumer-protection orders. Because the products are unlawful to possess, there is no personal-export pathway; e-liquid found at departure screening is confiscated and fines or prosecution can follow. Travellers connecting through Thailand should not carry vaping liquids.

QUANTITY CHECK

cigarettes

Duty-free: 1L of wine or spirits, 200 cigarettes or 250g of tobacco per adult. Personal effects and goods valued up to THB 15,000 (approx. USD $430) may enter duty-free. Bringing in more than two mobile phones requires declaration.

PRACTICAL ADVICE

E-cigarette liquid is categorically prohibited in this destination. Devices + pods + e-liquid seized at customs; do not attempt to mail or carry.
