Laboratory, hygienic or pharmaceutical glassware, whether or not graduated or calibrated
In plain English
This category includes glass items used for laboratory, hygienic, or pharmaceutical purposes, regardless of whether they have measurement markings. The items are separated into three groups based on their material composition and physical properties. One group consists of glass made from fused quartz or other fused silica. Another group covers glass with a very low rate of expansion when heated. The final group includes all other types of glass not mentioned in the previous categories.

Chapter 70 classification notes
Frequent misclassification in this chapter
Crystal vs. lead-glass — both chapter 70; tableware (7013) vs. art objects (7019 / Chapter 97).
Classification certainty
The 6-digit level shown here is the internationally harmonised layer. Duty rates attach to national 8-10 digit tariff lines, which differ by country — use the duty calculator for lane estimates. For binding certainty, request a ruling from the destination customs authority.
